Getting Started: A Day-by-Day Setup Guide
A realistic, day-by-day plan for moving your board off spreadsheets and email — most organizations are fully set up within a week.
Day 1: Create your organization and invite your core leadership
Start your free trial and set up your organization's basic profile — name, branding colors, and logo if you have one. Invite your other officers and committee chairs so they can start exploring alongside you rather than catching up later.
Day 2: Bring in your committees and roster
Add your real committees, along with their chairs and members. If you already track this in a spreadsheet, you can import it directly as a CSV rather than re-entering everyone by hand.
Day 3: Import your existing priorities and open actions
The same CSV import works for your strategic priorities and any open action items you're already tracking elsewhere. This is usually the biggest single time-saver in setup — you don't lose the work you've already done.
Day 4: Set up your next meeting
Schedule your next real meeting in OrgAlyne, and try generating a draft agenda — it pulls automatically from the open actions, recent decisions, and upcoming events you've just added, so it's already useful, not a blank page.
Day 5: Log your first real committee update and any open risks
Have a committee chair submit a real status update, and add anything currently on your board's radar to the risk register. This is what starts making your Overview dashboard genuinely reflect what's happening.
Ongoing: Let the rest build on what you've already added
From here, meetings, decisions, and events all connect back to the same real data you set up in the first week. There's no separate "phase two" — the same board members who were invited on day one are already using the same organization.
